Your AV Integrator Got Bigger. What Did You Get? September 2026

Why bigger doesn’t necessarily translate into better AV service.

It’s not happening only in AV.

Consolidation among providers is affecting virtually every corner of the American economy, but its impact is particularly visible in a service-driven industry like ours.

And make no mistake: For AV clients, service is everything.

Does your integrator actually take the time to understand your business? Does the technology solution your integrator provides truly meet your needs?

When something unexpected happens, will your integrator pick up the phone?

Those questions matter far more than the size of the company on your invoice.

We’ve noticed the kinds of claims made by the new generation of industry behemoths, many of them created through mergers and acquisitions. They promise greater resources, broader reach, centralized expertise and more capabilities.

But sometimes, the closer you look at what “service” actually means in their contracts, the more those promises seem to come with qualifiers.

A client recently told us about an AV integrator that won their business in part by promising a 72-hour turnaround for service.

Sounds reassuring. Until the client actually needed service. That’s when they discovered that the integrator hadn’t promised to have a service technician on site within 72 hours. It had only promised to respond to their service request within 72 hours.

There’s a big difference. And for the people relying on that technology, the distinction isn’t semantic. A response doesn’t get a meeting room back online or people back to work. Resolution does.

“ClearTech really cares about their clients and makes sure that the technologies provided fit their client’s needs.” – Dean, Southern California university

At ClearTech, we take a different approach to service. In fact, we purpose-built the company around a culture that integrates not only technical expertise, but partnership, commitment, understanding and responsiveness into every solution we provide and every relationship we cultivate.

So why can consolidation sometimes lead to a diminished service experience?

It isn’t simply because an integrator has become larger. It’s because, as organizations grow, focus, accountability, agility and continuity can become harder to maintain.

Our size allows us to know our clients—not simply as accounts, but as businesses and as individuals. We understand their facilities, their technology environments, their priorities and the people who rely on those systems every day. And because our teams remain closely connected to our clients and to one another, we can respond quickly when something changes.

That continuity fosters long-term relationships. It makes us more than a vendor. It makes us a true partner.

Of course, clients want to know that their AV integrator has access to the best technology and the most up-to-date expertise. That’s a question most established AV providers can answer.

But there are other questions worth asking, like, “Do the people who want me as a customer truly understand my business? Will they actually pay attention to me—or will I simply become another account among hundreds or thousands??

“Project management and communication have been the best of any AV company I have worked with. I have no reason to look any further for an AV partner.” – Network computing and telecommunications systems supervisor, Southern California-based community college

Clients don’t get lost in the ClearTech organization.

They’re the very reason we exist. Which helps to explain why ClearTech regularly prevails against competitors who are multiples of our size. They can offer scale, standardization, centralized resources and specialized teams.

We offer the same level of technical expertise and access to resources, but also something more:  focus, customization, accountability, personal relationships, direct access and responsiveness.

Consider accountability. In larger organizations, responsibility can become distributed. Sales, design, engineering, project management, installation, service and support may operate as separate worlds. When an issue arises, the client can find themselves navigating handoffs, departments and layers of responsibility.

At ClearTech, the people who work on your business have a direct stake in keeping it running. When something happens and you call us, there aren’t layers to wade through before someone takes ownership.

You’re a priority for all of us.

That traces directly back to culture—and to continuity.

The longevity and stability of our team allow us to truly know our clients’ facilities and technology environments. Our engineers remember the systems they designed five years ago. Our technicians recognize the client environment when they walk through the door.

That institutional knowledge matters. It means problems can be diagnosed faster. Issues can be identified before they cause disruption. Solutions can be implemented without spending valuable time getting a new team up to speed. And your business-critical technology functions uninterrupted.

“A bonus of working with ClearTech is that we can call or email their team members directly. And if we don’t reach the right person, they’ll make sure we connect to the one who can help us. We feel like they never drop the ball.” – Aram Manoukian, Associate Director of Technology, Campbell Hall

The way we see it, our clients’ technology environments are complicated enough. The integrator relationship shouldn’t add to it. Giant integrators typically have enormous resources, but accessing them can be a challenge. We don’t need three levels of approval to solve a client’s problem. We can move at the speed your business moves.

The ability to accommodate your needs and objectives along with your unique technology structure and company culture enables us to provide customized solutions – solutions that begin with what you need rather than our solution framework.

And that distinction matters. After all, your business isn’t standardized. Your people aren’t standardized. Nor are your facilities, workflows, priorities and challenges. Why should your AV solution be standardized?

“We think of ClearTech not as a vendor, but as a partner. We want to work with companies that have our vision, and we like ClearTech’s partner mentality and values.” – Chris Spaulding, Director of Technology, Granite Properties

One more thing, and this is key: Service isn’t the goal. Our clients’ success is.

We’re not saying, “Choose ClearTech because we care more.” Our message is: “Choose ClearTech if you care about getting the best possible technology solution for your business.” Because the commitment we bring, the responsiveness we deliver and the quality of partnership we cultivate enable you to get the most from your technology investment.

Ultimately, it all comes down to value.

What’s the value of having a partner who will do whatever it takes to see you succeed? What’s the value of having a partner who knows your business, your technology and your priorities—and is there when you need them? What’s the value of having an integrator that takes ownership rather than passing you from one department to another?

Whether you’re a current client or a prospective one, let’s have that conversation.

Let us show you how we put our commitment into action.
